Urgent Appeal: Help Never Never Land Survive This Crisis
Dear Friends of TIAS ARMS,
We are reaching out with an urgent plea for your immediate support.
Never Never Land School is in a critical financial position. A delay in government subsidies and a sharp drop in parental school fee contributions have pushed the school to the edge of closure. Despite their tireless work and life-changing impact on over 200 vulnerable children, the school is facing a cash flow crisis that threatens to shut its doors by August 2025.
To put it plainly:
- The Department of Education has not paid a cent since October 2024, resulting in an unpaid subsidy balance of approximately $3,000 USD, with more accumulating every month.
- The discontinuation of the EPWP employment program has left many parents jobless, unable to pay even the modest school fee of R200/month (roughly $11 USD).
- TIAS ARMS is currently the school’s only source of operational funding—covering staff stipends, groceries, utilities, and more. But that funding is now stretched beyond capacity.
The numbers are alarming:
- ~$3,000 in unpaid government subsidies since October 2024—a vital lifeline that has yet to arrive.
- ~$540/month for food — to ensure no child goes hungry.
- ~$140/month for essential printing and office functions.
- ~$35/month to keep the lights on and the water running.
- Modest stipends for a dedicated team working daily to end poverty and save lives through education and HIV care.
Without an immediate injection of funds, Never Never Land will no longer be able to meet its basic obligations—staff stipends, groceries, and utilities—by August.
We’re asking for your help—right now.
Your generosity has already helped change lives. Today, it can help save a school.
With urgency and deep gratitude,
Belinda Stewart-Burger
President of TIAS ARMS
